Before you sign a rent agreement
- It must be printed on stamp paper (or e-stamp paper) of the value your state requires; the amount differs from state to state and this page does not work it out.
- Agreements of 12 months or more must be registered, which is why this one stops at 11 months. Some states and cities expect registration or police verification even for shorter ones.
- Both sides and two witnesses sign every page; each side keeps a copy.
