JPG, PNG or WebP. Use a plain, light background: this tool crops and resizes, it does not change the background.
How do I make a passport size photo?
- Pick the form, or type the width, height and file size your notice gives.
- Choose a photo taken against a plain, light wall, facing the camera.
- Drag the picture, or use the arrow and zoom buttons, until your head and shoulders fill the frame.
- Download the JPG. For a physical photo, download the print sheet and print it on 4 × 6 inch paper at actual size.
What sizes do forms ask for?
- Indian passport
- 35 × 45 mm printed. The Passport Seva online form takes 630 × 810 pixels, between 10 and 250 KB.
- SSC exams
- Photo 3.5 × 4.5 cm, 20 to 50 KB. Signature 6 × 2 cm, 10 to 20 KB.
- Bank exams (IBPS)
- Photo 200 × 230 pixels, 20 to 50 KB. Signature 140 × 60 pixels, 10 to 20 KB.
- PAN card
- Photo 2.5 × 3.5 cm at 200 DPI, up to 20 KB.
These are the usual figures, taken from published guides to each form. They change from one application cycle to the next, so always go by the notice for your own application.
What do DPI and KB mean here?
A size in cm or mm only becomes pixels once you know the dots per inch: 3.5 cm at 200 DPI is 276 pixels. If your form gives a DPI, enter it; if it gives pixels, choose pixels and ignore DPI. KB is the weight of the file. The tool lowers the JPG quality just enough to get under the largest size, and if a small picture comes out below the smallest size it pads the file without touching the image.
Does it change the background or check the photo?
No. It crops and resizes only. It does not remove or whiten a background, and it cannot tell whether a photo meets rules about expression, glasses or lighting. A form’s portal makes the final decision on whether a picture is accepted.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The picture is opened, cropped and saved inside your browser, and this page loads no ads. Saving it as a new JPG also drops hidden details such as where the photo was taken.
