Image compressor
Make images smaller, resize them and convert between JPG, PNG and WebP. The work happens in your browser, so your images are never uploaded.
Settings
Drop images here, paste one, or
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or AVIF. Up to 30 images, 40 MB each.
Which format should I choose?
- JPG
- Best for photographs. Small files, opens everywhere, but no transparency: clear areas are filled with white.
- WebP
- Usually smaller than JPG at the same quality, and keeps transparency. Every current browser shows it; some older apps do not.
- PNG
- Keeps every pixel exactly. Best for screenshots, logos and line art; large for photographs.
How do I compress an image to 100 KB?
- Choose your image, and save as JPG or WebP.
- Select Target size and enter 100 KB.
- Download the result. Its new size and dimensions are shown beside it.
The tool tries several quality levels and keeps the best one that fits. Very detailed or very large images cannot reach a small target on quality alone; when that happens the image is also made smaller in pixels, keeping its shape, until it fits. To control the dimensions yourself, turn on Resize.
What happens to my images?
They stay on your device. Each image is redrawn and saved again by your browser; nothing is sent to a server, and this page loads no ads. Saving again also removes the details cameras and phones store inside a photo, such as the location and the camera model.
Good to know
Animated GIF and WebP images are saved as a single still frame. Results can differ slightly between browsers, because each uses its own JPG and WebP encoder.
