Developer workspace / two-PR release review

Git merge comparison

Review intended changes against a release candidate, regardless of branch names or cherry-picked commit IDs.

Compare two PRs

Source PR contains the intended changes. Candidate PR contains the changes you want to deliver. Branch names can differ.

Private repository access and baseline overrides

For private repositories, use a GitHub token with Contents read and Pull requests read access. It is sent over the website API to the configured comparison service for this job, not saved in browser storage or reports. Public PRs do not require a token.

Defaults: source PR merge base and candidate PR base snapshot. Historical PR baselines are inferred when their original commit history is unambiguous; otherwise a source-start override is required. Both PRs must belong to the same base repository; fork PRs into it are supported.

Comparison runs on the Git service using temporary repository copies. Results are held in memory for up to 15 minutes after completion; no merge or push is performed. Large repositories may exceed the ten-minute job limit.

Finished reports remain available for up to 15 minutes. The oldest finished reports may expire earlier when new jobs need space; download any report you need to keep.

If the candidate PR has already been merged, set its target baseline to the state before that merge. This prevents extra changes from being hidden in the current target branch.

Advanced: open an existing JSON report

Imported JSON stays in browser memory; it is not uploaded. Maximum 20 MB.

Advanced: generate a report from the CLI

Run the generated command from the Kernel DevTools project folder with Node.js and Git installed, then open comparison.json using the import option above.

Fill all required references, or a valid repository and two positive PR numbers.
